DYEING TO SEW - Session Two
ALL NEW FOR 2024
Get your stashes, scraps, works in progress, dyed fabrics, vintage linens, refurbished quilts, clothes in need of a mend, your needles, your threads and prepare to enter the fall season including rhythmic and meditative stitching into your routine.
With years of workshop experiences you will have a chance to join the artist and instructor to get lots of step by step visual stimulation during your online sessions. Learn about tools, natural dye processes and recipes including natural indigo vats, colored silk and photo image transfer, eco printing, felting, short cuts, composition, stitches and stitch composition. Learn to keep a visual planning sketchbook with drawn text, notes, recipes and swatches while using watercolor and water soluble pencils. See assembled scarves, quilts, wall hangings, books and more in different stages to the final piece. Make things along the way for sharing and questioning processes. Stitch slow to clear your head and relax. Be uplifted as you construct with your textiles to make works you, your family and friends will treasure. Take a moment to daydream and follow the needle and thread.*
See different fabrics used with natural dyes, cyanotype, batik, printmaking and stitch works. The instructor shares panels, stories, lanterns, weavings, handmade books, felted pieces, freehand, Sashiko, silk Bojagi and projects she has created for home and gallery display. Wearable art, art for the home, gifts and relaxation is a positive way to create and share. Expect to learn a lot and have fun.
All skill levels welcome. All programs are recorded.
