Monday’s in May is for Maker’s
DYEING TO SEW
Dyeing to Sew moves into it’s fourth consecutive session. Participants have been from all over the United States. The common thread has been an interest paper, cloth, thread, book arts and learning new things with elevating what is known.
The focus will be a continuation for the love of handmade.
If you have never taken an online class before and want to spend a little time with some big learning opportunities then this is for you.
Mondays, 2:00-3:30 PM EST, Four weeks.
May 2 - Introduction, Show and Tell, Floral Bundles
Floral printed bundles with cloth and paper
Plants, flowers, mordants, natural dyes
May 9 - Exploring spiritual art with cloth and thread
Alters, shrines, talismans and charms. Books, wallhangings, wearable works
May 16 - Creating Tributes with mixed media assemblage
Explore creating an art/visual journal tribute page dedicated to a mentor, loved one, or ancestor. Creating a tribute art journal page or even an entire art journal of a loved one is a way to give meaning and storytelling to that special person or animal in your life, past or present.
May 23 - Dyed and Stitched
This series will meet on Zoom. Registrants will be provided with meeting details for class entry. Please become familiar with Zoom applications before class. This will provide for a more relaxing experience at class time. Note taking suggested.
The class is a lecture series with hands on demonstrations, examples and time for answering questions. The class will be recorded for viewing at a later time.
All skill levels are invited to join us. Each class will be recorded.
