PAPER POP-UP - Paper Pulp Shrines, Alters, Helios and Grottos
Thursday, May 13 and 20, 2022
9-10:30 AM EST
Last year I made some paper pulp shrines to hold some of my small books and small finds from walks on the beach. I used a variety of mixed media techniques to embellish the shrines including indigo ink, stained tea bags, rust papers and acrylic paints, earth pigments and watercolor.
I am ready to make some more shrines this spring and invite you to join this Pop-Up if you might like to make a shrine of your own. I am using cyanotype prints, tea bags, indigo dyed cloth, paints, shells and more to incorporate into my pulp and finishes. I am sure by the time the Pop-Up is complete that you will know how to make a beautiful shrine of your own complete with your own favorite and meaningful finishes. You get plenty of ideas during the Pop-Up. I have sketched out a variety of new styles that I am ready to bring to life.
The supplies are easy to gather and most of them you already have at home. I also like that this is a process where I am recycling and creating something that I love that is functional and adds a bit of whimsy and magic to my home.
